Introduction to autism and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)

This two day training course is aimed at parents, carers and professionals. It provides a thorough overview of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and its relevance to autism education. Participants will develop their understanding of how behaviours are learned, explore the implications of this for children and young people with autism and see how ABA works in practice.

Jessica Aviles Senior Behaviour Analyst

Jessica Aviles received her MS in Counselling with an emphasis in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the California State University, Los Angeles. After working and consulting in home, clinic, and school settings in California she moved to London in 2010 and began working at TreeHouse School. For the last 10 years, Jessica has worked extensively with parents, carers, educators and individuals with autism and other related developmental disabilities to improve the quality of life for those affected by the condition. She presented her research on decreasing self-injurious behaviour at the Applied Behaviour Analysis International Conference in May 2013.

  • BA in Psychology
  • MS in Counselling, emphasis in Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst)

Times

This course runs from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day. Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration.
